A Look At The Causes Of Hair Loss Dermatitis

The skin on our scalp can, like any other part of the body, be subjected to skin disorders. However, when it happens on the head, you could just lose a lot of hair which could result in thinning of the hair or it could fall out in clumps. Hair loss, has in many instances, been the cause of many moments of depression for a lot of people. Somehow, it is difficult for most people to come to terms with hair loss and it has caused much anxiety in many a sufferer’s heart. The causes of course could be any number.

It could be due to ringworm, psoriasis or sebbhoreic dermatitis – somehow these three seem to be the worst offenders. A lack of personal hygiene could result in fungal infections which could also cause hair loss.

When the scalp is affected by dermatitis, it is known as sebbhoreic dermatitis and one would usually observe that this condition has symptoms of scaling and redness. There is a lot of itching present too and of course, all this results in hair loss. It could also happen that sebbhoreic dermatitis is a result of people who suffer from simple dermatitis itching and scratching too much, resulting in sebbhoreic dermatitis.

When the skin starts getting inflamed, it could well lead to traction alopecia which is what happens when hair loss or alopecia occurs due to excessive itching and scratching. It is bad enough when the hair starts falling and your hair starts to thin. But it is worse when the hair starts falling out in clumps.

What’s even worse with this condition is that it does not stop at the scalp – it could even affect the eyebrows and this could just result in the hair from the eyebrows falling out, maybe even in clumps. Now here, very often it is the inflammation and flaking that leads to the problem.

The good news however is that once the condition is diagnosed – and in most cases all it takes is a visit to the physician – then the relevant treatment can be resorted to and you could just get cured with a fairly simple line of treatment. However, the hair loss could entail laser or transplant treatment.
